Birth and baby care is unique to each person — just as it should be! I’ll make sure you know all of your options, without judgement or bossiness, so YOU can choose what’s right for you and your family. Extra-important: I also cover how to advocate for your preferences and wishes.
Brimming with practical tips
You don’t just want to be informed about birth and labour — you want to know how-the-heck to have this baby! You want to know HOW to ride the waves of labour and get this baby out of your beautiful body. From positions and breathing to relaxation and more, I’ve got you covered.

Learning shouldn’t be about lecturing. At HCD, learning is fun and easy to absorb. After all, you have lots on your mind, and I want to help this important information stick. Here you’ll find engaging activities and practical information that you can carry with you (without getting weighed down).

From possible-poop-during-birth, to sex-after-birth, to living in a postpartum body, it’s all covered so that you can be informed for the real-deal around birth and babies — not just what people show on sitcoms and Instagram.
Self compassion
In our noble attempts to get things “right” in birth and parenthood, we can be our own worst enemy. As a birth story listener, I understand how people can get stuck in expectations and beliefs during or after their births. I teach from a trauma-informed place and our goal together is to get you prepared to ride whatever comes your way with self-compassion.
This course is for you if:

What do you get in my prenatal classes?
You will get a comprehensive prenatal education, from labour to your baby’s first bath. It’s everything I would have wanted to know before having my first baby, and more. The course is taught over 4 sessions. Each session is 2 hours. Why? Because I don’t want you sitting at your computer all day, plus I want you to have time to digest information and formulate your questions so you can get them answered. Classes also focus on practicing your new skills so you’re ready to rock when the real show begins.

My hybrid prenatal classes are held over 3 sessions: two virtual and one in person. Class sizes are small (maximum 6 couples/pairs) so register today!

Prefer one-on-one classes for your prenatal classes? Private prenatal classes may be a great fit. You’ll get 8 hours of material, one-on-one and these classes can be tailored to your unique needs. Contact for availability.

Meet Heather
Heather Collins is a true renaissance woman who teaches from a unique place as a certified birth doula, birth story listener, parent and scientist with a PhD in Biology. Don’t worry, she distills her knowledge of birth and baby care into clear concepts, practical tools and interactive exercises to help you understand your options and alleviate anxiety. Her fascination and excitement about pregnancy and birth are contagious. She also values your path to parenthood and wants to help people explore their inner parent through this course.
